Last December, we gathered to celebrate the finalists of the 2025 CU Up Close image competition. This award ceremony ended our 10th year of the competition with our largest audience packed into an auditorium with giant projector screens and a professional presentation littered with a few dad jokes. The competition and the award ceremony have come so far since the first year where Joe stood on a chair in the 3rd floor C wing lobby and held up physical prints of each image for a small group of people. We are thankful for your submissions, your votes, and your support over the last ten years, and we're excited to see what images you submit in the years to come!
A group of JSCBB staff volunteered (and honestly, paid in pizza) to help ALMC staff narrow down over a hundred beautiful submissions to twelve top contenders. The twelve images were then printed and displayed in the 3rd floor C wing for a public vote to determine the winners. All twelve finalists are highlighted within our annual calendar that is distributed throughout our campus, the local community, and across the country. The images and their contributors exemplify the core principles of the BioFrontiers Institute, and further augments our collective impact on CU Boulder and the region. Congratulations to all our finalists, and the top three winners of this year’s event!
